摘要

In recent years digitalization has become a topic of great importance in the maritime sectors. All actors in this industry are experiencing a path of change, that requires increasing skills and knowledge to keep up with digital innovation challenges to come. Despite this, the strategies for port actors to approach the digital transformation journey and address the associated challenges remain unclear to many. Therefore, this research helps port actors to better define and understand their position in relation to the current changes and it offers them a model to get inspiration to assess their level of digital maturity within the domain of their capabilities. The following study develops and applies a Digital Capability Maturity Model (DCMM). The model includes the main dimensions on which port actors can work to strengthen their digital capability maturity. Data for this model were collected through a survey primarily involving European port actors. The results indicate that the digital capability maturity of port actors is generally at an intermediate level, with room for further improvement when and if tailored recommendations are provided.
