<p>The infrastructure development is progressively influenced by the implementation of digital technologies like unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), automation of the processes, and digital infrastructure. Despite the fact that such technologies have been related to the enhancement of efficiency and performance, the overall and mechanism-based effect on the success of the project has not been properly comprehended yet. This paper will look at the direct, mediating, and moderating relationship between the most important digital and organizational variables affecting the success of projects in the construction industry. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data of 300 industry professionals using a quantitative approach, with data analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results suggest that digital infrastructure maturity (DIM) and decision-making agility (DMA) are the strongest determinants of project success, and UAV integration and process automation are moderately positively related to it. The regulatory compliance exhibits a less but significant role implying that it acts as an enabling factor. The findings also show that the mediating impacts of process automation and DMA are not always upheld, which means that digital inputs do not always lead to outcomes via linear processes. Also, organizational readiness and task technology fit exhibit mixed moderating effects. The paper is valuable as it provides a context-sensitive and mechanism-based framework of understanding the digital transformation in infrastructure projects.</p>
