Fuzzy Logic Based-Perturb and Observe Control with Energy Management for Photovoltaic-Battery and Diesel Hybrid System

Scientists have been motivated to seek remedies for the shortfall in providing electricity to consumers using photovoltaic (PV) systems. These remedies entail incorporating supplementary power sources to meet the electricity demand. When the power demand exceeds what is provided by the PV generator, the batteries and diesel generator (DG) are utilized as energy compensation sources. To improve the effectiveness of the DG-battery and the photovoltaic system, we will implement an energy management algorithm to optimize energy use, protect the batteries from damage, and prevent energy deficit. This is the first improvement we will make in our research. Our second optimization is aimed at improving the effectiveness of the fuzzy logic technique through the implementation of the Perturb and observe strategy. This will prevent the maximum power point tracking search mode deviation phenomenon, which causes power loss. We’ll utilize the stored power in the battery to prolong the downtime of the DG. The performance of these solutions has been demonstrated, significantly enhancing the system’s reliability amidst climate change and heightened demand loads.
