<p>Roses (<i>Rosa</i> spp.) are economically important ornamental plants in Vietnam and are susceptible to a range of soil-borne pathogens, including plant-parasitic nematodes. During a survey of rose-growing areas in Vinh Phuc Province, root-lesion nematodes were detected on rose plants exhibiting reduced vigor, mild chlorosis, stunted growth, and necrotic lesions on feeder roots. <i>Pratylenchus coffeae</i> was detected in 25% of the collected samples, with mean population densities of 16 individuals per 250&#xa0;g of soil and 45 individuals per 5&#xa0;g of roots. Morphological and morphometric characteristics of the recovered population were consistent with <i>Pratylenchus coffeae,</i> including a slightly offset lip region with two annuli, a robust stylet with rounded basal knobs, a lateral field with four incisures, a large spermatheca usually filled with sperm, and a short subcylindrical tail with a smooth to crenate terminus. Molecular analyses based on the D2–D3 expansion segments of 28S rDNA, ITS rDNA, and COI mtDNA confirmed species identity, showing 99.0–100% similarity with reference sequences in GenBank database. Phylogenetic and haplotype network analyses consistently placed the Vietnamese population within a well-supported <i>P. coffeae</i> clade, with low genetic variation and no clear geographic structuring. This study represents the first report of <i>P. coffeae</i> associated with rose in Vietnam, expanding the known host range of this species in the country.</p>
