<p>As new evidence on the evaluation and management of patients with acute ischemic stroke continues to emerge, the American Heart Association/ American Stroke Association released its latest guidelines for the early management of acute ischemic stroke. These guidelines, for the first time, incorporate evidence-based recommendations for assessment and interventional management of pediatric patients with acute ischemic stroke. This update emphasizes on the new pediatric-specific recommendations and also discusses key differences from other pediatric stroke guidelines.</p>
