From Inception to Innovation: Journey of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics–National Respiratory Chapter (IAP-NRC)
摘要
The Indian Academy of Pediatrics—National Respiratory Chapter (IAP-NRC) has played a transformative role in shaping pediatric respiratory care in India. Since its inception in 1989, it has evolved from a focused platform dedicated to childhood respiratory disorders to a nationally recognized academic body driving excellence in pediatric pulmonology. To bring uniformity and quality to respiratory care, it has created a robust ecosystem of education, collaborative learning and capacity-building through its nationwide activities like structured training programs, including asthma training modules (ATM), basic as well as advanced pediatric bronchoscopy courses, basic pediatric pulmonology master classes, pediatric pulmonology fellowship programs, evidence-based protocols, advocacy activities, and development of various national guidelines. The Journal of Pediatric Pulmonology, a quarterly publication of IAP-NRC, is dedicated to nurturing young pediatricians in research and promoting the generation of new evidence in pediatric pulmonology. The chapter’s next strategic goal is to integrate digital health innovations and strengthen global collaborations to address emerging respiratory challenges. Together, these initiatives reflect IAP-NRC’s steadfast commitment to improving respiratory health for every child in India.
