TRIM65 regulates prostate cancer cell growth and stemness through the WNT/β-catenin axis

Prostate cancer (PCa) is among the most prevalent cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality among men. Its common treatment modalities include surgery and endocrine therapy.
ObjectiveTo investigate the role of tripartite motif containing 65 (TRIM65) in the proliferation and stemness of PCa cells and elucidate its underlying mechanism.
ResultsTRIM65 is highly expressed in PCa and correlates with poor prognosis. The knockdown of TRIM65 was found to inhibit PCa cell proliferation and suppress their migratory capacity. Furthermore, TRIM65 downregulation attenuated the stem cell-like properties of PCa cells, and mechanistically, TRIM65 depletion inhibited the WNT-β-catenin signaling pathway, thereby suppressing PCa progression.
ConclusionThese findings highlight TRIM65 as an important regulator of PCa cell proliferation and stemness.
