FAM120A promotes angiogenesis in pancreatic cancer by increasing the mRNA expression of RHOA

Pancreatic cancer (PAAD) is an aggressive malignancy with poor prognosis. The development of effective anti-angiogenesis drugs is of great importance for the improvement of the prognosis of PAAD. FAM120A, also known as c9orf10, is an RNA-binding protein (RBP). FAM120A is overexpressed in multiple tumors, and affected the progression of tumors. However, FAM120A is rarely reported in pancreatic cancer, and the mechanism is unclear.
ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of FAM120A on the growth and vascularization of pancreatic cancer (PAAD) and explore the underlying mechanism.
ResultsFAM120A was highly expressed in PAAD cells. FAM120A knockdown restrained the growth of PAAD cells and suppressed the vascularization as well as migration of PAAD cells. Moreover, FAM120A regulated the mRNA expression of RHOA in PAAD cells, and overexpression of RHOA reversed the anti-tumor effect of FAM120A knockdown.
ConclusionFAM120A contributed to the angiogenesis of PAAD by increasing the mRNA expression of RHOA.
