Case Description <p>A 32-year-old, gravida 4 parity 2 living 2 abortion 1, previous all full-term vaginal deliveries was referred in view of ultrasound suspecting right unruptured tubal ectopic with rising β-hCG titres with a history of over-the-counter consumption of pills to terminate her pregnancy in a known case of gall bladder cancer. An in-depth history with clinical examination and correlation with investigations revealed the absence of pregnancy altogether and attributed the patient’s clinical presentation to paraneoplastic syndrome associated with carcinoma of the gall bladder. A high-risk exploratory laparotomy was avoided, and patient was referred to oncology unit.</p> Conclusion and Clinical Significance <p>This case reinforces how blind reliance on imaging modalities can be misleading, and hence investigations and imaging modalities should only be used as an aid to management after thorough clinical assessment.</p>

Case Description
