摘要

Most common clinical presentation of a woman with MRKH is primary amenorrhea. It is rare to have pelvic masses in women with MRKH. Only few cases have been reported in literature. Although many case reports of ovarian abscesses have been published, none has been published of an ovarian abscess secondary to Salmonella typhi infection in a woman with MRKH. We report a case of a 32 yr old woman with fever of unknown origin unresponsive to medical management. During her fever work up, her blood tests suggested typhoid infection while her MRI suggested right sided ovarian mass with high suspicion of mucinous cystadenoma. On staging laparotomy, huge right sided ovarian abscess was found. Right salpingo-oopherectomy was performed. Pus culture suggested Salmonella typhi infection and histopathology suggested infected ovarian endometrioma.
