<p>The hospitality industry has recognized the necessity of digital transformation to maintain competitiveness in the COVID-19 pandemic. This transformation has highlighted the position of frontline employees’ competencies, which have had to adapt to both pandemic-related changes and the ongoing digital revolution. The research aims to know about how digital transformation impacts the skills and abilities required by frontline employees and to identify strategies for developing these new competencies. This includes exploring the specific digital skills needed, the challenges faced by employees, and how to effectively train and support them through the transition. The study employed a qualitative approach to examine the insights of hospitality frontline employees in a changing scenario. Thematic and topic analyses were employed to find important themes and topics. The study revealed several critical employee competency themes, including personal, workplace, technical, customer-centric, and psychological competencies. These competencies are vital for directing the evolving landscape of the hospitality sector. The study concludes that embracing digital transformation is crucial for equipping frontline employees with the essential skills and competencies to succeed in evolving business landscapes. Digital transformation enhances work productivity and innovative work behavior by streamlining processes and enabling access to digital resources.</p>
