摘要

The growing public concern over pesticide residues in food has intensified the need for reliable assessments of their persistence and potential risks. This study evaluates the dissipation and residue levels of indoxacarb in okra under field conditions using the LC–MS/MS method with QuEChERS extraction. The technique demonstrated excellent linearity (R2 > 0.9995), high recovery rates (79.3–96.3%), and minimal matrix effects (-9.17%), confirming its reliability. Indoxacarb residues followed first-order kinetics with a half-life of 1.7 days, dissipating below the EU’s MRL of 0.01 mg/kg by day seven at the recommended dose. The pre-harvest interval (PHI) was determined to be 6.18 days, highlighting rapid residue degradation, likely accelerated by Egypt’s hot and arid climate. The risk assessment identified negligible dietary risks, with hazard quotient (HQ) levels far below the safety threshold of 100%. These findings confirm the safe use of indoxacarb in integrated pest management techniques, which ensure compliance with international safety requirements and promote sustainable farming practices.
