摘要

Lipoma is a common benign neoplasm of adipose tissue but has a very rare occurrence in the parotid gland, and there are only a few case reports in the English literature with lipomas arising from the deep lobe of the parotid gland. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) neck may mislead you in management with surprise on the OT as in our case. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) neck is the investigation to be done in all cases. Here we report a patient presented with a painless progressive swelling in the left parotid region for 6 months and has undergone superficial parotidectomy and enucleation of deep lobe lipoma with temporary facial nerve palsy which improved with no signs of Frey’s syndrome in the follow up visit after 6 months.
