摘要

The main objective of this review is to highlight the importance of plant extracts in organic agriculture explore recent research on the use of plant extracts. The need for biostimulants in sustainable agriculture is imperative, as they increase crop resilience, improve nutrient uptake, endorse soil health, support beneficial microorganisms, and minimize chemical fertilizer and pesticide use. Plant-derived biostimulants have emerged as game-changers in sustainable agriculture, enhancing crop resilience, growth, and productivity while mitigating environmental impacts because they contain bioactive compounds. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in plant extract-based biostimulants, highlighting their potential to transform agricultural practices. First this review discussed how biostimulants have evolved and the importance of natural sources. In 2024 various plant extracts stimulated plant growth, improved nutrient uptake, and promoted beneficial microbe interactions, highlighting the challenges for biostimulant use. Plant-derived biostimulants hold immense potential, with a projected annual market growth of 15% by 2030. Standardization, formulation, and scalability will drive commercialization, whereas precision agriculture and digital technologies will optimize application. This green technology has revolutionized sustainable agriculture practices, supporting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting eco-friendly farming practices. This review provides important information for farmers, researchers, and policymakers in promoting sustainable agriculture through organic horticulture using plant extracts.
