AI-Driven Dashboard: A Novel Framework for Next-Generation Teaching Learning Aligned with SDGs
摘要
The global urgency of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in climate-vulnerable Small Island Developing States (SIDS), necessitates a cohesive, technology-leveraged framework for educational reform. This research addresses a critical void: the systemic fragmentation that prevents emerging educational technology (EdTech), specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven personalization, from being formally aligned with measurable sustainability outcomes. Using Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM), this study develops and validates a unified, context-sensitive AI-Powered Sustainable Education Framework. The core artifact is an AI-powered personalized learning dashboard prototype that strategically focuses on enhancing Teaching and Learning (T&L) practices to support SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). The framework is theoretically grounded in a synthesis of Adaptive Learning, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Project-Based Learning (PBL) principles. The four derived design principles: Contextual Alignment, Ethical Transparency, Pedagogical Integration, and Iterative Refinement, ensure the system is adaptive, trustworthy, and directly maps learners’ activities to local SDG targets. Initial validation via a pilot study at the University of Mauritius demonstrated strong preliminary support for the framework’s efficacy.
