Green Knowledge Sharing and Green Innovative Behavior: The Roles of Transformational Leadership and Green Shared Vision
摘要
Underpinned by the ability-motivation-opportunity theory, this research investigates how green transformational leadership affects hospitality employees’ green innovative behavior via the intermediary role of green knowledge sharing and the moderating role of green shared vision. The study samples 237 frontline employees in the hospitality industry in China using a random sampling technique. The time-lagged and multisource data was assessed in SmartPLS SEM (v 4.0). The findings reveal that green transformational leadership significantly and positively impacts frontline employees’ green innovative behavior via green knowledge sharing. Besides, the intervening role of green shared vision reinforces the underlying link between green transformational leadership and green knowledge sharing (and green innovative behavior) such that the associations are more potent at high levels of green shared vision. The study illuminates the importance of leadership and shared vision in facilitating innovative behavior among employees. In addition, the study highlights the important role of green knowledge sharing in fostering employees’ innovative behavior. Our findings suggest that policymakers and practitioners should realize the importance of green leadership in congruence with green shared vision to promote a sense of sustainability and harmony in their employees.
