摘要

Anxiety and negative experiences associated with medical interventions can have lifelong effects on patients’ psychological well-being, lasting into adulthood. One way to break this cycle is through therapeutic play. A pilot project at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Children’s Hospital demonstrated that the positive effects described in the literature can be confirmed by nursing staff and that therapeutic play has a positive impact on the daily care of children and adolescents with rheumatic diseases. Therapeutic play supports therapeutic interventions, reduces anxiety, and promotes well-being. Based on these findings, therapeutic play activities were developed that can be helpful in the treatment of patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and can be applied in various settings.
