摘要

Digital patient education is becoming increasingly relevant in the field of rheumatology, given the persistent care gap, limited medical resources, and increasing prevalence of rheumatologic diseases. This article gives an overview of the current research situation in this field and a practical example of implementation in Germany: the Digital Rheumatology Information System (DiRhIS). The web-based system DiRhIS provides quality-assured information on key rheumatic diseases, enabling treatment teams to create and send personalized patient information in a digital format. Integration into existing care and documentation processes takes place via specific interfaces and the content is quality assured by an interdisciplinary group of experts. An innovation space is used to further develop digital formats. Overall, the experience with DiRhIS to date indicates that digitally supported, quality controlled patient education can reduce the consulting burden, improve self-management and provide a scalable, transferable model for establishing rheumatology services in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
