Comprehensive prognostic and immune infiltration assessment of LGALS3BP in pan-cancer patients
摘要
LGALS3BP, a multifunctional glycoprotein, is highly expressed in human cancers and associated with poor clinical outcomes. However, there is a lack of comprehensive analysis across multiple cancer types. This study utilized RNA sequencing, TMB, MSI, and clinical data from TCGA and clinical profiles, covering 33 cancer types. The expression of LGALS3BP was analyzed and pan-cancer mutation information was obtained from cBioPortal. Tumor microenvironment analysis employed the “ESTIMATE” and CIBERSORT algorithms. Single-cell analysis was performed using the TISCH2 database. protein–protein interactions and functional enrichment analysis utilized the STRING database. LGALS3BP expression varied in different tumor types, being higher in BLCA, BRCA, ESCA, GBM, HNSC, KIRC, LUAD, and UCEC. It was associated with prognosis, with higher levels indicating worse survival in some cancers. LGALS3BP also affects TMB, MSI, tumor immune infiltration and the presence of specific immune cell populations. It interacted with immune stimulators, MHCs, and immune inhibitors. Single-cell analyses showed the elevated expression in certain cell types, and protein–protein interaction analysis revealed its involvement in immune response and tumor microenvironment. LGALS3BP expression is associated with patient outcomes and tumor immune response in various cancer types, highlighting its potential as a prognostic marker. However, additional experimental validation is needed to confirm these findings.
