摘要

Objectives

This study evaluated the effects of a brief mindfulness program on psychological outcomes and HPA axis function in pregnant women.

Method

Participants (n = 215) were randomized to intervention or control groups. Psychological outcomes were assessed at four time points, and salivary cortisol was measured pre- and post-intervention.

Results

Compared with the control group, the intervention group had lower levels of FOC (p = 0.02), depression (p < 0.01), and anxiety (p < 0.01). The intervention effect on FOC persisted until T3 (p = 0.01), while the effect on depression persisted until T4 (p < 0.05). At T2, the intervention group had a higher cortisol awakening response compared with the control group (p = 0.01).

Conclusions

The brief mindfulness program reduced perinatal depression, anxiety, and fear of childbirth, and showed regulatory effects on HPA axis function.

Preregistration

This trial was registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (https://www.chictr.org.cn/, registration number: ChiCTR2300069350).
