The combined effect of copper oxide with zinc oxide had a lower inhibition zone for different antibiotics against MRSA strains than the combination of copper oxide with rosemary oil or zinc oxide with Rosemary oil against antibiotics with MRSA. Various combinations of nanoparticles and essential oil showed enhanced activity for different antibiotics at 37&#xa0;°C incubation for 24&#xa0;h compared to antibiotics individually.</p>

摘要

MRSA is a highly prevalent bacterial infection that continues to be a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Nanoparticles (NPs) are one of the promising strategies to deal with bacterial infections. The synergism of nanoparticle oxides and other natural materials showed complementary effects and enhanced antibacterial activity. So, the purpose of the current study is to assess the synergistic antibacterial effect of copper oxide and zinc oxide in addition to Rosmarinic oil with antibiotics against MRSA infection. This study was conducted on blood samples of 50 patients infected with (MRSA). They were recruited from ICUs, Tanta University hospital, from October 2020 to May 2023.The samples were inoculated into blood agar and MacConkey agar, then incubated both aerobically at 37 °C for 24 h. Then, molecular identification and microbial gene sequencing of isolated MRSA strains by 16S rRNA were detected. The combination of copper oxide with Rosemary essential oil (15.14 mm) showed improved inhibition zones for different antibiotics against MRSA strains. Also, the combination of zinc oxide and Rosemary essential oil enhanced the inhibition zone (13.1 mm) for antibiotics against MRSA strains. The combined effect of copper oxide with zinc oxide had a lower inhibition zone for different antibiotics against MRSA strains than the combination of copper oxide with rosemary oil or zinc oxide with Rosemary oil against antibiotics with MRSA. Various combinations of nanoparticles and essential oil showed enhanced activity for different antibiotics at 37 °C incubation for 24 h compared to antibiotics individually.
