<p>Nanoparticle (NP)-encapsulated drugs have therapeutic implications in many illnesses. Because of the latest nanocarrier development in nanomedicine, we reflect on new findings in 2024: specifically, NPs used to optimize drug delivery. We focus on several categories: organic NPs, metal NPs, hybrid organic and metal NPs, and inorganic silica NPs. We conclude with a section outlining NP-related clinical trials performed in 2024. We summarize a series of articles that examined the NP use in targeting and treatment conditions, including cancers, bacterial and fungal infections, neurocognitive conditions, cholestasis, and atherosclerosis. The dozens of new NP formulations published in 2024 indicate that nanomedicine, a field that at its core centers on the specificity of drug delivery, is the future of medicine. This future is being actively explored in clinical trials with nanoparticles added to an ever-lengthening list of drugs, included in vaccine formulations, and used to identify and assist in the definitive diagnosis of various illnesses.</p>
