Experimental and Statistical Investigation of Mechanical Properties in Sand Casting A360 Alloy
摘要
In this study, T6 heat treatment was applied to Sr-doped A360 alloys produced by sand casting method to investigate the effect of inoculation and heat treatment on various weight percentage inoculation (0,0141, 0,0441 and 0,0767%) and different heat treatment conditions. Three different temperature (160, 180 and 200 °C) and times (2, 4, and 6 h) were used for the aging heat treatment. Then, the effect of experimental parameters on the mechanical properties were investigated. The highest values of tensile strength, hardness and fatigue strength were obtained for different inoculation quantity and T6 aging conditions. Optimum experimental conditions (inoculation quantity, aging temperature and aging time) were determined using the Taguchi method. Additionally, ANOVA and regression analysis was performed to determine the correlation between experimental parameters and mechanical properties. According to the regression results, the R2 values for tensile strength, fatigue strength, and hardness were calculated as 0.92, 0.97, and 0.93, respectively.
