摘要

This study examined the wear behavior of an Al/Mg multilayered composite on the cross-sectional edge created via accumulative roll bonding (ARB) technique. The ARB technique persisted at room temperature until the sixth run. The findings demonstrated that by increasing the passes of ARB process, the distribution of reinforcement layers became more uniform in the matrix, leading to a 60% increase in hardness after the 6th pass compared to the first. Wear tests were conducted for all passes at load of 10, 20, and 40 N. The findings demonstrated that the wear rate dropped as the number of ARB passes increased. So that, in comparison to the first pass, the 6th pass’s wear rate has decreased by 62%, 75%, and 82%, respectively, for loads of 10, 20, and 40 N. Also, the examination of the worn surfaces showed that the abrasive wear mechanism prevailed in the lower passes and the delamination mechanism prevailed in the higher passes.
