Dynamic Process of Digital Image of Molten Droplets Analysis Based on Magnesium Alloy Double Arc Welding

In this work, systematically combined with a series of classical image processing algorithms, a novel topology method for processing the dynamic process of double-electrode gas metal arc welding (DE-GMAW) melt droplet digital images was proposed. The number of melt droplets and melt profile information, such as area size, were accurately obtained by this method. In addition, a two-dimensional (2D) simulation of the droplet transformation process of DE-GMAW was performed, and the transformation of droplet morphology was tracked using the fluid volume method. The results showed that the numerical simulation results of DE-GMAW are consistent with the number and area of molten droplets obtained by the proposed method.
