Fe3O4 Nanoparticles Embedded in Polyvinylpyrrolidone Matrix: Effects of Synthesis Processes on the Structure and Magnetic Properties

  • Sharareh Mirzaee

摘要

In this work, the effects of the interaction between the polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and iron ions on the structure and magnetic properties of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles have been investigated. For this purpose, four co-precipitation processes were considered. The spinel structure of the magnetic nanoparticles was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the surface morphology of nanocomposites was analyzed using Scanning Electron microscopy (SEM). The interaction between the polymer and surface of the particles was studied by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT–IR). Also magnetic properties of the nanoparticles were measured applying Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). Results present that the samples have different crystallite sizes and saturation magnetizations. Also four precipitation processes led to various amount of tensile strain in the structure of nanocomposites.
