Conservative Tunnelling Dimpleplasty: Report of Two Cases Highlighting Surgical Technique and Postoperative Outcome
摘要
Cosmetic surgery has seen significant growth in recent years, with increasing awareness, acceptance, and willingness among individuals to undergo various procedures. Facial cosmetic surgeries, including blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, brow lift, rhytidectomy, genioplasty, malar or cheek augmentation, and dimpleplasty, have become commonplace. A dimpled smile is widely regarded as an attractive facial feature that often draws positive attention and appreciation. However, not everyone naturally inherits dimples, leading surgeons to develop techniques for creating them through a procedure known as dimpleplasty. Several surgical methods have been proposed for dimple creation, each requiring high technical precision. Given the technique-sensitive nature of these procedures, careful consideration is essential before deciding to undergo surgery. As the results are permanent, prospective patients should be confident in their choice, seek out skilled practitioners, and ensure they have the right motivation. In this context, we present two cases of dimpleplasty with their respective outcomes, alongside a discussion of the various techniques employed and the potential complications associated with the procedure. The follow-up periods for the two cases were 18 months and 21 months, respectively, during which no postoperative complications were noted.
