Bipartite Zygoma Mimicking Zygomatic Fracture: A Diagnostic Challenge in Maxillofacial Trauma Imaging
摘要
Introduction
Bipartite zygoma is a rare anatomical variation resulting from failure of fusion of ossification centers. It may closely mimic fracture lines on imaging, leading to diagnostic dilemmas in maxillofacial practice.
Materials & MethodsWe report a case of bilateral bipartite zygoma in a patient presenting with long-standing facial asymmetry. The clinical and radiological findings, along with its surgical and diagnostic implications, are discussed.
ConclusionAwareness of bipartite zygoma is essential to avoid misdiagnosis and to guide appropriate management.
