摘要

Introduction and Aim

The nasolabial flap is a versatile and reliable option commonly used for reconstruction of various intraoral and facial defects. Despite its well-established applications, its use in lower lip reconstruction remains underrecognized.

Methodology

We report two cases, a 42-year-old male and a 52-year-old female, undergoing lower lip reconstruction using nasolabial flaps following tumor excision. Both patients had large, full thickness defects. A unilateral nasolabial flap was harvested and transposed to the defect site in a single-stage procedure. Both patients achieved good functional outcomes, including preserved oral competence, articulation, and adequate mouth opening. Cosmetic results were satisfactory with minimal donor site morbidity.

Conclusion

The nasolabial flap represents a reliable, single-stage reconstructive option for large, full thickness lower lip defects, offering excellent functional and aesthetic results with minimal complications.
