Utility of Submental Flap in Early Oral Cancer and Surgical Technique
摘要
Objectives
This study aims to see the utility of the submental flap in oral cavity reconstruction following ablative resection for early oral cancer.
Materials and MethodsRetrospectively reviewed records of ten oral cancer patients who underwent ablative resection and were reconstructed using a submental flap in AIIMS, Guwahati.
ResultsNone of the patients experienced flap loss. One patient developed flap congestion, but the flap was salvaged.
ConclusionA submental flap may be a reliable option for soft tissue defects reconstruction in early oral cancer node-negative patients.
