Simultaneous Intranasal Tooth Extraction Using LeFort I Osteotomy in Patient Undergoing Orthognathic Surgery
摘要
Background
LeFort I osteotomy is used to correct dentofacial deformities and to resection various tumours in the maxilla and skull base.
Case PresentationDown-fracture of the maxilla provides a direct sight for tumour removal. There are also case reports using this approach for cysts and tumors of maxilla.
ConclusionThere is no case report in the literature that uses the LeFort I osteotomy for removal of intranasal teeth. This paper reports on the surgical removal of an intranasal tooth from the nasal floor using LeFort I osteotomy in a patient planning to undergo double-jaw orthognathic surgery for Cass III malocclusion correction.
