Objectives <p>To compare the oral manifestations among diabetic and non-diabetic patients affected with COVID-19.</p> Methodology <p>A cross-sectional study was conducted among 156 RT-PCR-confirmed COVID-19 patients who were divided into diabetic (76) and non-diabetic groups (80). Statistical analyses were performed using IBM SPSS 22V. The Pearson chi-square test was used to compare the prevalence of oral manifestations associated with COVID-19 among diabetic and non-diabetic patients.</p> Results <p>Oral manifestations such as loss of taste (86.8% vs. 61.3%, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.001), mouth ulceration (38.2% vs. 12.5%, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.001), bleeding while brushing (35.5% vs. 12.5%, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.001), and lip swelling (11.8% vs. 2.5%, <i>p</i> = 0.022) were significantly high except for oral fungal infection (2.6% vs. 0%, <i>p</i> = 0.143) in diabetic COVID-19 patients when compared with non-diabetic COVID-19 patients. Furthermore, diabetic COVID-19 patients had a higher hospitalization rate (30.3% vs. 12.5%, <i>p</i> = 0.006) and systemic symptoms.</p> Conclusions <p>The prevalence of oral and systemic manifestations, as well as hospitalization, was higher among COVID-19 patients with diabetes compared to those without diabetes. These outcomes might be influenced by factors such as poor oral hygiene and hyperglycemia, which can exacerbate the severity of symptoms.</p>
