摘要

Heart is an unusual site for distant metastases in head and neck cancers with vague symptoms making it difficult to diagnose early but has been reported in postmortem examination. These symptoms may present as paraneoplastic syndrome which again has a low incidence and make the whole scenario yet more confusing.

Here we discuss a case of subclinical DIC (paraneoplastic syndrome) due to secondaries in epicardium presenting with a rare symptom of hypofibrinogenemia in a head & neck cancer patient.
