TMJ Ankylosis Release and Reconstruction of Ramus Condylar Unit with Costochondral Graft by using In-House 3D Printed Guide and Anatomical Template
摘要
This study proposes the in-house development of 3D-printed guides and anatomical templates to enhance the precision and outcomes of temporomandibular joint ankylosis release and reconstruction using costochondral grafts.
MethodsCT scan data were utilized to generate accurate 3D anatomical models using open-source imaging software. Customized surgical guides and templates were then designed using Geomagic Freeform software and produced with an in-house stereolithography 3D printer.
ResultsThe use of these guides enabled precise osteotomies, while the anatomical templates ensured accurate graft shaping, orientation, and fixation.
ConclusionThis technique significantly improves surgical precision, reduces operative time, and enhances both functional and aesthetic outcomes. It is an accessible and cost-effective approach, particularly advantageous for young maxillofacial surgeons.
