摘要

Background

An epidermoid cyst is a benign cyst with non-aggressive in nature. It is usually found on the skin but rare occurrence as bone cysts are sometimes present in the distal phalanges of the fingers. Epidermoid inclusion cyst in the maxillofacial region is a rare entity.

Case

A rare case of epidermoid inclusion cyst of anterior mandible was diagnosed, surgically enucleated with complete curettage and extraction of displaced/impacted canine under general anesthesia. Histopathological findings of the excised cystic lesion confirmed the diagnosis of an epidermoid inclusion cyst. The patient was followed up at regular intervals with no recurrence.

Conclusion

This case report highlights a rare case of epidermoid inclusion cyst along with its management which should be reported in the literature.
