摘要

Ameloblastoma is the most common benign epithelial odontogenic tumor of the jaws. It occurs mostly in the mandibular posterior region. Recurrence is more common in the mandible than the maxilla and in the follicular type than plexiform or other types. In the temporal/infratemporal fossa, the recurrence of the lesion is rare with very few cases reported in the literature. The present case report is of recurrence of ameloblastoma in the temporal fossa. The challenges encountered in the diagnosis, management and possible cause of recurrence are discussed in the report.
