<p>Vermicompost is considered a sustainable alternative to reduce the dependence and use of inorganic fertilizers and improve agricultural production because it provides readily available nutrients to plants. In this study, the effects of vermicompost based on swine (P) and bovine (B) manure on the growth and flowering of <i>Gerbera jamesonii</i> L. was evaluated. Vermicomposting was carried out using swine (P) and bovine (B) manure in different proportions (%, v: v): 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, and 0:100. The treatments applied to the crop consisted of incorporating vermicompost into the growth medium at three proportions (0%, 15%, and 30%); five vermicomposts obtained from different mixtures of swine and bovine manure (100P0B, 75P25B, 50P50B, 25P75B, and 0P100B); and the application of vermicompost leachate (with and without application), for a total of 30 treatments. A randomized block design with a factorial arrangement (3 × 5 × 2) was used. The results demonstrated that vermicompost, particularly at 15% with leachate application using the 75P25B mixture, improved plant height, number of leaves, dry matter accumulation, and both the number and size of flowers in gerbera, compared with the corresponding control for each vermicompost evaluated (0% vermicompost). The use of vermicompost in the growing substrate improves the agronomic performance and productivity of gerbera.</p>
