Analysis and Biological Assessment of Silver Nanoparticles Obtained from Methanol Extract of Piper Cubeba’s Fruit

The methanol fruit extract of Piper cubeba was used to create the silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs). Then, their capacity to stop the growth of two Gram-positive bacteria, Bacillus cereus (6 mm) and Staphylococcus aureus (5 mm), as well as two Gram-negative bacteria, Salmonella typhi (3 mm) and Escherichia coli (5 mm), was tested. Also measured the zone of inhibition for Aspergillus Sp. and Candida spp. Fungus. By using the UV-visible spectrum (440 nm absorbance value), FT-IR (which demonstrated the existence of the O-H and C-N group), Powder-XRD revealed the peaks at 32.3o, 38.01o, 46.3o and 67.7o. By using SEM with EDAX, the nature of (Ag-NPs) could be studied, and it was found that Ag-NPs often had a spherical form and is average size is 90.3 nm with a range of 70–110 nm. The antioxidant activity of synthesized Ag-NPs was evaluated at different doses employing the Scavenging Assay, DPPH technique, and an Incubation concentration of 50% (IC50) value was found as 591.02 µg/ml. The biosynthesized Ag-NPs showed significantly high activity presence in MD Anderson Metastatic breast 231(MDA-MB 231) cell with an IC50 value of 33.425 µg/ml, followed by Human epithelial (Hep-2) cell with an IC50 value is 31.88 µg/ml and low activity of Vero cell line.
