摘要

Here various theoretical structure related quantities of molten K-Pb at three different temperatures have been evaluated. Chemical Short-Range Ordering (CSRO) is one of the principal features in the molten K-Pb alloy as well as some sort of compound forming tendencies is also observed at stoichiometric composition of this alloy. A distinctive prepeak in the structural data of this alloy has been observed and this prepeak is termed a First Sharp Diffraction Peak (FSDP). Here the theory has been developed based on a generalized hard-sphere model where charge sharing occurs among the constituent atoms. The generalized model has been able to interpret the physical significance of CSRO and FSDP. Theoretical data are consistent with the experimental neutron diffraction data.
