Organic photodiode based on PTB7-Th:PCBM as photoactive layer
摘要
In the present work, the photodiode based on bulk heterojunction (BHJ) of PTB7-Th and PCBM is fabricated in the photoactive layer. The combination of two polymers are donor–acceptor (D–A) in the active layer deposited as the thin film using spin coating technique leads to the formation of BHJ. Field emission scanning microscope confirms the smooth morphology of both the polymers and their composites. The superior optical properties of the composite are evaluated using ultraviolet and raman spectroscopy techniques. The configuration of the device is ITO/PEDOT:PSS/PTB7-Th:PCBM/C60/Al. Under illumination, the device demonstrated improved optoelectronic performance, which can be attributed to enhanced interface quality. The ideality factor and the saturation current are obtained from the I–V characteristics of the device. The responsivity and detectivity obtained for PTB7-Th:PCBM composite is 5.1 mA/W and 4.6 × 109 Jones. The mobility of the electrons in the device is obtained from double log I–V graph is 2.18 × 10–5 cm2/Vs. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) results also validate better transportation properties of the charge at the interface of the device as well as the lifetime of charge carriers is also determined. Overall, the performance after using this composite in an active layer of the photodiode is improved, which have a wide range of applications in field of organic optoelectronics.
