Systematic study of the (n, γ) reaction cross sections for odd-odd heavy nuclei at neutron energies ranging from 30 to 45 keV
摘要
In this study, we developed a new semi-empirical formula for calculating the (n, γ) reaction cross sections for odd-odd heavy nuclei at neutron energies ranging from 30 to 45 keV, using a statistical model of nuclear reactions. This approach involves a systematic verification of various terms within the model to select the most relevant ones that derive from the final formula. By fitting this formula to experimental cross-section data from the EXFOR database, we determined the free parameters and studied the systematic behavior of the (n, γ) reactions. This systematic study provides a better description, thus improving the representation of the (n, γ) cross-section with a minimum χ2 adjustment. The results show good agreement between the reaction cross sections (n, γ) calculated by this formula and the experimental data from the EXFOR database, and the evaluated nuclear data libraries ENDF and JENDL-5.
