Fabrication and characterization of CdO-B2O3-Li2O-MoO3 glass as a potent shield against ionizing radiation
摘要
This article assesses CdO's potential to enhance the structural, mechanical, and radiation-shielding qualities of lithium boromolybdate glasses. Densities (g/cm3) increased from 2.42 to 3.79 with an increase of CdO, whereas the Vm (m3/mol) decreased from 27.79 to 21.9. The ultrasonic velocities (m/s) (VL) and (VT) were incremented, VL increment from 4848 to 5329 and VT increment from 2113 to 2509. The elastic constant of synthesized glasses with varying CdO concentrations was increasing trends with an increase of CdO. The outcomes are in satisfactory agreement with the Mak-Mac values for elastic moduli. The MAC incremented with the quantity of CdO increased. The MAC values have the following trends S5 > S4 > S3 > S2 > S1. The HVL and MFP have the following trends S1 > S2 > S3 > S4 > S5. S5 sample has the lowermost
