We have studied the \(\alpha\) - and proton decay half-lives for nuclei with Z = 53–85 by employing the Coulomb and proximity potential model. For inner part of potential we applied a polynomial form that the coefficients of which are determined according to the boundary conditions. Competition between proton decay radioactivity with \(\alpha\) - and \(\beta ^+\) -decays is investigated. The branching ratios of proton radioactivity, \(\alpha\) - and \(\beta ^+\) -decays are compared with the available experimental data. The calculated decay branching ratios are in agreement with the experimental data for most nuclei. We have also predicted the half-lives of the proton emitters that have not yet been detected experimentally and discussed about their decay modes.
