摘要

The goal of this study was to examine the mediating effect of employee trust in the relationship between leader–member exchange (LMX) and turnover intentions. The analysis was based on the primary data that was acquired by a structured questionnaire, designed on a five-point Likert scale. The sample comprises 286 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) workers in Bolgatanga, Ghana. Path analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling (SEM) in Amos (v.23). The study concluded LMX had a significant negative impact on turnover intentions. The results further showed that LMX had a positive influence on employee trust, and employee trust has a negative impact on employee turnover intention. Finally, employee trust partially mediates the relationship between LMX and turnover intention. The findings are crucial since few researches have looked at the influence of LMX in relation to trust and turnover intentions in the setting of SMEs.
