摘要

This study has two main objectives. The first aim is to adapt the Financial Self-Efficacy Scale (FSES) into Turkish. The second aim is to test the mediating role of intolerance of uncertainty on the relationship between financial self-efficacy and mental well-being. The 6-item FSES was verified in study I (n = 511) using confirmatory factor analysis. Measurement invariance revealed no structural or metric invariance between gender groups. Item response analysis was also performed, and all items demonstrated good discrimination. The FSES's dependability was tested using Cronbach's α reliability coefficients. In study II (n = 432), correlation analysis and structural equation modeling were investigated. The intolerance of uncertainty played a partly mediational role in the relationship between financial self-efficacy and mental well-being. Financial self-efficacy impacted mental well-being both directly and indirectly through intolerance of uncertainty. The results demonstrated that the Turkish version of the FSES had strong psychometric qualities. In addition, intolerance of uncertainty was found to have a partial mediating role between financial self-efficacy and mental well-being.
