A premix herbicide combining clodinafop-propargyl, metribuzin, and sulfosulfuron for weed control in wheat
摘要
Grass and broad-leaved weeds are a significant biotic constraint for successful wheat cultivation in Northwestern India. Further, Phalaris minor and Rumex dentatus have evolved herbicide resistance to commonly used herbicides. In this study, a three-way premix post-emergence herbicide was evaluated for weed control and wheat productivity during winter season of 2021–22 and 2022–23. The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with seven treatments and four replications. Three-way premix, clodinafop-propargyl 10% plus metribuzin 22% plus sulfosulfuron 4.2% WP at 452.5 g a.i. ha−1 resulted in > 85.0% and > 98.0% of control efficiency of grasses and broad-leaved weeds, respectively, compared to untreated control plots up to 60 DAA. Further, it resulted in improved control of P. minor, Medicago denticulata, Lepidium didymum and Anagallis arvensis over two-way premix clodinafop 9% plus metribuzin 20% WP at 174 g a.i. ha−1, and gave 6.4% more tiller density and 6.3% higher grain yield. The correlation matrix and principal component analysis among the observed parameters revealed significant relationships between weed control and crop yield. Our study demonstrates that post-emergence application of clodinafop-propargyl 10% plus metribuzin 22% plus sulfosulfuron 4.2% WP at 452.5 g a.i. ha−1 effectively controls the complex weed flora including resistant P. minor and enhances the productivity of wheat in Indian sub-tropics.
