摘要

In November 2023, the Ficus whitefly Singhiella simplex (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) was first recorded in Greece, where it was found on heavily infested Ficus spp., including Ficus benjamina and Ficus microcarpa. At the same time, the immatures were parasitized by an Aphelinid species, Encarsia protransvena (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae). Morphological and molecular methods were applied on collected individuals to achieve a reliable identification of both insects, S. simplex and E. protransvena. Based on current knowledge, this is the first report of the Ficus whitefly in Greece as well as the first observation of its parasitoid.
