<p>The cotton-melon aphid <i>Aphis gossypii</i> has been considered a destructive pest of Armenian cucumber, <i>Cucumis melo</i> var. <i>flexuosus</i>, on which severe damage is mainly caused by both toxic saliva injection and transmitted virus(es). To refine our knowledge of the bio-ecology of <i>A. gossypii</i>, we studied some biological parameters of this insect on three local Armenian cucumber (fakous) varieties (var. Vert d'Arménie, var. Mornagui, and var. Arbi) grown in Tunisia, under controlled glasshouse conditions. In the life table analysis, <i>A. gossypii</i> exhibited the least significant biological performance on var. Mornagui, as indicated by the longest nymphal development time (10.27 ± 1.45&#xa0;days), the shortest adult longevity (17.08 ± 7.13&#xa0;days), the lowest fecundity rate (64.28 ± 1.95 offspring/female) and reduced values for the net reproductive rate, finite rate of increase and age-specific demographic parameters. Additionally, var. Mornagui demonstrated significant antixenotic effects, minimal damage to plant growth under infestation, and the highest plant resistance index (20.408) among the tested varieties. These findings provide evidence that var. Mornagui was the most resistant (least suitable) Armenian cucumber variety for <i>A. gossypii</i> infestation.</p>
