<p><i>Spodoptera frugiperda</i> (JE Smith, 1797) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) key pest in the maize crop, and chemical treatment with the active ingredient methomyl and biological treatment through <i>Trichogramma pretiosum</i> Riley, 1879 (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) are&#xa0;the most control strategies used. However, application failures may expose larvae and the natural enemy to sublethal concentrations, altering biological aspects and, consequently, the efficacy of control. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of sublethal concentrations (LC’s) of methomyl on <i>S. frugiperda</i> and <i>T. pretiosum</i>. After determining the CLs, the <i>S</i>. <i>frugiperda</i> caterpillars were exposed to CL5, CL15 and CL30 and compared to the control (distilled water) by evaluating biological parameters. For the <i>T. pretiosum</i>, eggs of <i>Anagasta kuehniella</i> (Zeller, 1879) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) were submersed in the treatment mixtures, and offered to the parasitoids; then the biological parameters were evaluated. The larva-to-adult survival rate of <i>S. frugiperda</i> decreased 26,6% compared to the control. Exposure of <i>S. frugiperda</i> to the sublethal doses resulted in a longer total pre-oviposition period, reduction in the duration of oviposition and female longevity, and increase in the length of a generation. Reductions of 23,0% in intrinsic growth rate, 46,0% in gross reproductive rate, and 70,0% in net reproductive rate were estimated. In <i>T. pretiosum</i>, no changes were observed in the evaluated parameters. Therefore, exposure of <i>S. frugiperda</i> to the sublethal concentrations LC<sub>5</sub>, LC<sub>15</sub>, and LC<sub>30</sub> of methomyl negatively affects the biology of the insect pest, and the concentrations do not interfere in the reproduction of <i>T. pretiosum</i>.</p>
