<p>The performance evaluation of the supply chain gives insights to the managers about multi-layered internal linking activities and multiple entities. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) has been used to evaluate the performance of supply chains. However, the traditional DEA models cannot consider the linking activities of supply chains in the performance evaluation. Network DEA (NDEA) models can compute the efficiency measure of multi-stage processes like supply chains. Several network DEA models using radial efficiency measures have been proposed by different authors, but none have considered links (intermediate products) in the overall efficiency measure. This paper presents several radial NDEA models in which the intermediate products are incorporated into the overall efficiency measure. It considers six scenarios related to the link control approach by upstream and downstream firms of the supply chain, which are interesting from both theoretical and practical points of view. This paper also investigates the target units (benchmarking reference set) for inefficient units with a network structure under each of the scenarios. A case study demonstrates the applicability of the proposed models to a supply chain. The empirical results show that the firms generate the highest and lowest efficiency measures under Scenario 2 and Scenario 6, respectively. The empirical results show that, in a cooperative setting, link control by both the downstream and upstream firms generates higher input-oriented efficiency measures compared to link control by none of the firms.</p>
